Strong Pace In Barcelona Testing

One month after the first GP3 test of the season, the action kicked off again at the Circuit de Catalunya. The two days of testing saw mixed conditions, with moisture in the air (and on track!) during the early part of day one, followed by drier conditions for the remainder of the test.

The focus for Jack’s ART Grand Prix team centered around race runs, simulating tyre degradation mixed in with qualifying runs. The fastest times of the test came on the morning of day 2, where Jack ended the session in P3, less than 1/10th of a second off the fastest time. A great indicator for things to come, with the first round of the season taking place in just under a month at the same circuit.

Jack Aitken: “Really good test, especially the second day where we did plenty of long runs and showed good pace for pretty much the whole day! We’re heading straight to Valencia for next week and then it’ll be Round 1, so not long left before the real action starts.”
